~ Referrals ~
We have just
started working on moving all our referrals from off of "Our Puppy Families"
pages and onto this page, this will take some time so currently you will
find our families referrals for us under both this page and the
Our Puppy Families
pages.
Some
of our families have kindly provided contact for further references if
needed. Please note that these families are not “Open Houses” for viewing of
“Labradoodles” so please do not presume or pressure them to visit their
homes or their Family Companion Labradoodles. Thank You.

"Tucker"
(Pictured at 5+ weeks old) |
Dear Melinda,
5-March-2007
I wanted to
let you know how our breeding prospect puppy, Tucker, is doing. He is a
happy, playful little guy. He is very easy to train, and is the smartest
puppy in his puppy class!
We love him
so much, he is great with my grandkids, and gets along well with my
other dog, and my 2 cats, although with the cats he did have to learn
his place!
Transportation to L.A. was a breeze. DogTainers contacted me and let me
know exactly what I needed to do. I could have had him flown to
Seattle, but I chose to fly down to L.A. and pick him up. What a fun,
great trip that was.
Thank-you, so
much for the patience and kindness you have shown us. It gives me such
peace of mind that you continue to have contact with us, and answer all
of our questions.
All my best,
Helen Macan

"Rumby"
(Pictured at 6+ weeks old) |
We first found out about Sunset Hills through their
website. Upon contacting them we promptly received a reply with all the
information that we required. We also contacted Melinda by telephone
and she was most helpful and friendly. Whenever we were in doubt about
anything a phone call was all that was required and Melinda was always
on hand to offer assistance.
We also were able to see Rumby at her house. Rumby
was very happy and well cared for, in a family
orientated environment. This left us with peace of mind that we had
made the right decision in our choice of breeders.
Rumby is now part of our family and she is a very
friendly and well adjusted puppy. This can be attributed to her first
start in life. So for that we are most grateful to Melinda and her
family.

Brody 2004 |

Cooper 2006 |

Brody (Black) & Cooper (Chalk)
 |
Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to share the news that we are officially a two doodle family
now, and life will never be the same!
We had our beautiful Brody, who was bred and
chosen for us by Melinda Radus of Sunset Hills Australian Labradoodles.
I don't know how she does it, but Brody was a perfect match for our
family, and life was good... Then we thought Brody should have some
company because his parents both worked and he was alone for much of the
day. Again, Melinda worked her magic of matching puppy to family, and we
now have Cooper!
Brody and Cooper are the complete opposites of
each other, but it's a perfect fit, like ying & yang. Life is still
good, just a bit funnier, and now our family is complete.
Even though this was our second dog, you seem
to forget certain things, and can feel a little unsure of yourselves
when they are puppies. Melinda was always there to kindly answer
questions, give advice, and reassure us that we were doing things the
right way. The fact that I knew she was there for us (even for the
stupidest questions) made the transition from one dog to two seem so
natural.
We are so in love with "our boys" and could not
imagine our lives without them. They are healthy, happy, beautiful and
keep us on our toes. Thanks, Melinda, for the happy greetings we get
when we come through the door, the cuddles & smooching on the couch, and
the many fits of laughter watching them play together.
Cheers - Addie

"Lance"
(Pictured Feb. 2005)

Justin & Lance at 9 wks old |
Prospective
Buyers:
It was truly a pleasure working with Melinda Radus, owner of Sunset
Hills Australian Labradoodle Breeding Centre, I found her to be very
helpful and patient in answering all my questions.
I purchased ’Lance’ from
her, an adorable multi-generation Australian Labradoodle, who checked
out excellent at his veterinarian visit, with the veterinarian
commenting on his very good muscle development, which I'm sure has
everything to do with the excellent diet and exercise that Melinda gives
her dogs.
I was a little nervous about
such a long flight for a dog to endure all the way from Australia to
Oregon USA, being over 24 hours in all, but with the pet transport
service that Melinda used Lance arrived in great condition just as she
assured me he would.
I was given all the guarantees
that I would need to ensure that if there should be a problem in the
future that it would be taken care of.
Thanks Again Melinda,

"Diesel"
Sunsethills River's Diesel |
Hi Melinda,
I thought that you might like
know what Diesel’s been up to this past couple of weeks.
Diesel’s been great and we’re
extremely pleased with him. He has a fantastic temperament - just as
you described - very relaxed whilst still being very playful. Diesel
adores our little boy and is very gentle with him. He is also happy to
share his squeaky toys with him too!
We started puppy pre-school
the weekend that Diesel arrived and although he was a bit unsure the
first week…, he was much more confident at the second session and was
very happy and social with all of the other pups. He already obeys a
couple of commands like “sit” and “come” and is quickly getting the hang
of “fetch”.
All in all he’s a beautiful
pup that we feel very lucky to have had join our family!
Thank you so much!! We would
definitely have no hesitation in recommending your pups to anyone
considering adopting an Australian Labradoodle.
Kind regards,
Alice and
Stuart

Hawaii USA 2005

"Ima therapy dog!!!"

Hard at work and loving it!

Trick-O-Treat |
To Prospective Buyers,
I have Sunset Hill's Rorie's
Kian. I researched a long time before deciding Melinda was the right
breeder for me. She was very prompt in answering all e-mails, and had
an endless amount of patience for all my questions. Another reason I
chose Melinda as a breeder was because puppies were raised in her home
with her children. I was impressed with the socialization Kian had
upon arrival, and feel it was due to her loving home environment
We live in Hawaii, and found
the transport from Australia to Hawaii very easy. DogTainers and
Melinda had all appropriate paper work in order so the pick up at the
airport was effortless. Hawaii is rabies free and we were concerned
about quarantine but he was released to us immediately upon arrival.
His temperament, intelligence
and intuition made him a natural candidate for therapy work. Kian earned
his Canine Good Citizen before he was a year old and was certified as a
therapy dog when he was 18 months old. He was the youngest dog the
examiner had ever certified. He is currently working as a reading
therapy dog for children reading below grade level.
He was selected as a
companion to service dogs in training. For him to be selected, he had to
exhibit an eagerness to learn, and be a good role model in terms of
temperament and canine etiquette. He is part of the Hawaii Fi_Do
organization which supplies and trains service dogs, as well as
certifies therapy dogs. He is called upon to represent Hawaii Fi_Do for
fund raising events, and must be an outstanding example of the
organization's dogs. He has been featured on local news at one of these
events.
Melinda has continued to be
available for any questions 18 months later. She continues to be a
pleasure to work with, and I recommend her to anyone interested in
purchasing a labradoodle.

"Toorak"
(6 months old)

Toorie moved to USA! |
Dear potential Sunset Hills customer,
You have chosen a great breeder to research. I
personally looked into three reputable breeders and for the following
reasons, am very happy with my final choice of Sunset Hills.
First and foremost, Melinda is always available to
contact when questions or issues arise. We received timely emails
before our puppy was born detailing the cost and choices available to
us. Once the puppies were born we received regular
updates and further helpful information needed to get
ready for our puppy. I choose to fly to Adelaide to pick up “Toorie” in
person and Melinda was very helpful in providing information on how to
set up a crate and transport for our puppy back to Melbourne. Overall,
it has been, and continues to be, an easy process to communicate with
Melinda.
Secondly, I was impressed by Melinda’s personal care
for the breed dogs and puppies. The other breeders I researched,
visiting one of those potential breeders, were such large operations
that the dogs could not receive the kind of attention that Melinda and
her family were able to give the dogs and puppies. I especially liked
the fact that the puppies were exposed to her young children from their
beginning.
Finally, of the three reputable breeders I
researched, Melinda was priced most reasonably for the quality
Labradoodle that she is producing. The Labradoodle is an expensive dog
and I am confident that I am getting what I paid for. Melinda has
established a top breeding line, using studs from the original breeders
of the Labradoodle.
As I talked with Melinda in her home on the day I
picked up our puppy, I could see her dedication to this litter. She
gave us a tour of her set-up, showing us her grooming area while giving
tips of the care of this breed. She was sad to see Toorie leave, but
happy to see him going to a good home. I appreciated that she had
invested so much of herself into this litter, as I feel she will do the
same in future litters.
Best of luck in your decision,
Tammy Tish

Hi
Melinda,
Just a quick note to let you know that we are now in
the USA. Toorie flew to Minnesota first while we finalized our move.
We are back in our home and Toorie seems to have settled in well. I have
included a photo taken at about his first birthday.
Enjoy!
